Sunrise to Haven 

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide essential psychological and emotional support to children affected by the Russia-Ukraine war by creating therapeutic trauma kits and distributing them to those in need. As dedicated mental health advocates and aspiring innovators in the fields of neuroscience and psychology, we aim to alleviate the emotional distress caused by the conflict and raise awareness of the ongoing challenges faced by children in war-torn regions worldwide. Through consistent action, community engagement, and collaboration, we strive to restore a sense of  safety, hope, and healing in these vulnerable young survivors' lives. 

What We Do

We create and distribute Sunrise Haven Kits, trauma relief kits specifically tailored to children affected by the Russia-Ukraine war. Each kit includes: 

 

  • Basic emergency supplies

  • A teddy bear-like electronic whistle for security and comfort

  • Additional items designed to provide psychological and emotional support during emergencies

 

In partnership with the Ukrainian Embassy in Korea, we are able to ensure that our kits reach the children on the ground who need them most. 

 

Beyond the provision of practical resources, we also aim to raise awareness of the broader lived experiences of children suffering in war zones on a global scale. By organizing fundraising events and awareness raising campaigns, we are committed to sustaining our efforts until the moment that peace is restored. We wholeheartedly believe that every child deserves a future free from trauma and fear, and through our various initiatives, we endeavor to support and empower them along their journeys of survival, healing, and transcendence going forward.

The logo is designed to represent a heart that is divided into two halves, reflecting our mission to provide both emotional comfort and emergency care to children affected by the Russia-Ukraine war. The left half of the heart is yellow and features a smiling face so as to act as a symbol of hope and warmth, at the same time highlighting our project’s focus on mental well-being and positivity for children under siege around the world. The smile embodies the therapeutic essence of the kits provided, encouraging feelings of safety and comfort in times of distress. The right half is red with a white medical cross at the center, a universal symbol of emergency aid and protection. In unison, the two halves symbolize aspirations for harmony as well as the Sunrise to Haven initiative’s balanced approach to offering emotional healing and practical aid to children in need. The heart shape reflects the care, compassion, and love that resonates at the core of our mission.
